Recommended Leather Care

We recommend using Fiebing’s Saddle Conditioner or Dr. Jacksons Hyde Rejunevator or conditioner

Here’s a general guide on how to use it effectively:

  1. Prepare the Leather: Start by ensuring the leather surface is clean and free of dust, dirt, and debris. You can use a soft-bristled brush or a clean, damp cloth to gently remove any surface dirt.
  2. Test Compatibility: To make sure the conditioner works and produces the intended effects, it’s a good idea to test it on a tiny, discrete section of the leather before applying it to the entire surface.
  3. Apply Conditioner: Using a gentle, clean cloth or applicator pad, dab a tiny bit of the conditioner onto it. A thin, even coat will do; a thick covering is not necessary.
  4. Work in Sections: Apply the conditioner in a circular motion to one area of the leather at a time. Make sure everything is covered, paying particular attention to creases and seams that might be more likely to dry out or crack.
  5. Allow Absorption: Give the leather a few minutes to absorb the conditioner. This makes it possible for the conditioning chemicals to enter the leather strands and moisturize and nurture them from the inside out.
  6. Buff and Polish: Gently buff the leather surface with a clean, dry cloth once the conditioner has been absorbed. This offers the leather a smooth, glossy surface and aids in getting rid of extra conditioner.
  7. Repeat as Needed: You might need to apply several coats of conditioner, depending on the state of the leather. Before applying the next layer, let the previous one completely dry.
  8. Optional: Heat Treatment: After applying the conditioner, you can warm the leather with a hairdryer or heat gun set to low for better conditioning and deeper penetration. Because too much heat might harm leather, take care not to overheat it.
  9. Store Properly: To preserve the quality and efficacy of the leather conditioner, keep the bottle well closed and out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry location.
  10. Regular Maintenance: Repetition of the conditioning procedure is necessary to keep your leather products in good condition, particularly if the leather is subjected to harsh conditions or is used frequently.

For optimal results, always adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendations found on the product label. Regular use of leather conditioners will help your leather goods last longer and maintain their best appearance.
